RWE npower is a leading integrated UK energy company and part of the RWE Group. Saville won the contract to configure and install a wide range of audio visual and communication systems in the Incident and Media Centre at the company’s Swindon HQ. These included integrated audio visual systems in the boardroom, two conference rooms, an admin area and two meeting rooms plus a breakout area.
The main boardroom features a bespoke table designed and built in our own workshops, with twin 65” LCD screens and Tandberg 3000 videoconferencing. The equipment rack is built into a veneered wall, with four additional TFT screens showing live news channels. Incoming sources are selected and routed to the main screens from an adjacent control desk with three PCs, AMX controller, Kramer switchers and an intercom. The systems in each of the main rooms are also operated via AMX touch screen controllers.
All the rooms are linked by an intercom system and constantly recorded on hard disk recorders by a network of Panasonic Dome observation cameras. The camera images can be displayed individually or in groups on any screen via a multiplexer.
