Quad Forum -15 Sub passive sub-woofers are incorporated into the fabric of the building...Earl Mortimer College & Sixth Form Centre recently entrusted Saville with the design and installation of audio visual systems, including a state-of-the-art sound system in their multi-use theatre facility.
We specified Quad audio equipment to suit the colleges need for a high performance yet affordable solution. Separate Quad power amplifiers were used for the front of house programme sound speakers and Quad Forum-15 Sub passive sub-woofers are incorporated into the fabric of the building. A total of 2000w RMS amplification allows high sound pressure levels to be achieved when required.
In addition to the front of house system, separately amplified Quad D5-T bi-polar speakers were installed along the side walls for additional programme sound and voice reinforcement. For even coverage and excellent dispersion, two pairs of two-way speakers in each enclosure were configured in a V-shape. The whole area is also covered by an induction loop system. Sennheiser wireless microphones were provided for use during assemblies and teaching.
Signal routing, equalisation and volume attenuation (of programme sound and speech levels independently) are handled by a 12x8 channel Allen & Heath DSP processor and is automatically controlled by an AMX system.
We also installed an integrated audio visual system here with widescreen HD projection and a 4-metre tab-tensioned motorised screen, plus a further range of audio equipment in the dance studio and the music teaching room.
