Conferencing cuts travel costs for TSYS

Established with a European presence in the UK in 1999, TSYS has grown to become one of the world’s largest companies for outsourced payment services, supporting more than 400 clients in 85 countries. TSYS has a number of offices in the UK, including London, York and Knaresborough. The TSYS European Data Centre provides support to clients, both across Europe and internationally.

With help from Saville, the company has now taken a major step towards improving and streamlining its international communications capabilities whilst reducing its carbon footprint.

Saville has upgraded the existing TSYS facility by designing and installing a three-screen conferencing system at the TSYS offices in York, UK. Both a high-definition Tandberg VC system and an AMX touch screen controller were integrated with a bespoke media wall module. The facilities also include full HD video display and PC presentations via an interactive Sympodium monitor mounted on the lectern.

TSYS LAN Team Administrator, Graham Berry said: “Our video conference suite was designed as a multi-functional facility, as we entertain many internal and external clients and require a complete range of conferencing and presentation tools.”

“We can now incorporate PC, laptop and Blu-Ray presentations, Tandberg High Definition videoconferencing, plus SKY HD for live news feeds and off-air broadcasts.”

The company’s aim was to upgrade the existing infrastructure to meet the changing needs of the business, moving away from an ISDN-based videoconferencing system. As a global company with many international office locations, including the United States, Brazil, New Delhi, Russia and Cyprus, an IP-based Tandberg solution was determined to be the best fit because it significantly improved the ability to communicate between offices via the company’s WAN (Wider Area Network)

Major savings

Graham Berry added, “One of our main goals was to reduce our carbon footprint and become more environmentally friendly. By reducing the need for constant travel between international offices, we can now conduct training presentations across the globe at the touch of a button.”
